is the agency responsible for the evaluation of professional journalism and mass communications programs in colleges and universities. There are 119 schools accredited by ACEJMC.

Spring Council meeting to be held at Freedom Forum in D.C.

The annual spring Accrediting Council meeting will be May 3 and 4 at the Freedom Forum’s new headquarters in Washington, D.C., on The Wharf, 610 Water St. SW. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3. Accreditation decisions for 27 schools will be made Friday.

The Council spring business meeting will be Saturday, May 4, starting at 8:30 a.m. It is expected to end no later than noon.Attendees are encouraged to book lodging in D.C. as soon as possible. CHEA Call For Third-Party Comment

The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC) is the agency formally recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) for accrediting programs for professional education in journalism and mass communications at institutions of higher learning. 

ACEJMC will be reviewed by CHEA at its July 15, 2024, Committee on Recognition meeting. Third-party comment must be received in the CHEA office no later than May 29, 2024. Details about the Call For Third-Party Comment can be found here.
